About

Aneith is an orphaned planet floating out beyond the reach of any star system, orbited by 6 moons that glow on and off intermittently.

Moons and Seasons

Alavora

Alavora is gentle but cold. The snowstorms that plagued Harth's time die back into occasional flurries, keeping the region chilled but allowing some breathing room. Only some though. Alavora is still a struggle to survive in, with most plants and animals forced to bunker down already for Harth choosing to contine their hibernation through Alavora. The few left awake scavenge for what little remains.

Nelith

Nelith's season is often described as 'the world holding its breath'. Nelith's time is short, but vital. The light she gives off is packed with energy, and the majority of plants will spend what little energy they saved to grow specialized structures specifically to capture as much of this energy as possible. During this time, little else will grow, though the temperature will slowly warm as the season progresses. Most creatures wait out Nelith's season with bated breath, eager for Esorian to take the skies and start her season.

Esorian

If Nelith is the world holding it's breath, then Esorian is it releasing that breath into a relieved sigh. All the energy the plants have worked to store during Nelith is put to use during Esorian's time, causing plant life to rapidly coat the landscape. Due to this, creatures  flourish during this time, and it's typically the season young are born and raised.

Itia

Itia can be seen as a changing of the guard for the world. Many of the species of plant that  thrived under Esorian's season will die back, giving way for many other species of plant and animal who favored waiting out Esorian and taking advantage of the lesser competition of Itia's season. Young may still be born during this time, and while food isn't considered as plentiful, it isn't a time of struggle for most.

Tieon

Tieon's season acts to ease the world into the next weeks, bringing a chilled  wind to the lands she presides over. This prompts the plant life to drop their excess materials, spill their seeds, and begin toughing up for the upcoming seasons. Creatures will also begin their preparations, storing up on as much fat as they can in hopes to survive the coming weeks. Young typically stop being born by this point, though some species may bear young early on in Tieon in order to take advantage of the feast of seeds the plants leave.

Harth

Harth's season could be best compared to deep winter. Her light isn't as energy rich as the other moons, and she gives off little heat. Most plants die back to a hibernative state, leaving only a stubborn few to try and tough out the season. It's a time of hardship for all species, with snowstorms and even blizzards blowing across the land, leaving all not safely tucked away in burrows to simply tough out the season as best they can.
