Mualani

Mualani was practically bouncing with excitement, and a little bit of nerves too. She was one of the first to be chosen to go through the dragonrider's trials, and was one of the first to receive a dragon. Who wouldn't be nervous? Of course, she already had a saurian companion, but the more the merrier!

"Hello trainee!" The Weyrmaster greeted, walking up to the excited Mualani. "Ready for the final test?" He asked, somewhat rhetorically- he knew this look of excitement well. "Born ready! Let's do this!" Mualani shouted. The Weyrmaster chuckled, flashing his hand somewhere off to the right of them.

Mualani followed him through a set of doors leading to an enormous room filled with nests of eggs. Mualani spun around, looking in every direction, trying to take in as much as she could. The Weyrmaster gave another chuckle, getting her attention. "This is your final test," he said, spreading his arms out, "search these nests for your future companion. You'll know them instinctively."

Mualani headed into the maze of eggs, content to just look around. She couldn't wait to tell everyone else about what it was like! She really hoped they got to at least see this sight too, even if they couldn't get a dragon. As she wandered, she suddenly felt compelled to stop. Puzzled, she tried to move, but every direction felt 'bad'. Something compelled her to look to her right, and when she did, something caught her eye- an egg, not much bigger than her fist, but it stood out from all the others.

The Weyrmaster's words rung in her head, and she reached out, gripping the little egg. It cracked, pieces flaking away, before a tiny little creature plopped out of the egg. Mualani scrambled a little, catching him before he could hit the ground. He looked up at her, with what she knew was a smile. Then a voice popped into her mind, "Hello, I'm Weisol. And you?" "Mualani." She said, a little breathless. Her dragon. This was her dragon!

Weisol wiggled a little, eventually seeming to get his bearings, and began to float. Mualani cooed over the little dragon, before movement caught both their attention. The Weyrmaster walked up, grinning widely. "Congratulations," he said, "you're a dragonrider."

Species: Broadback Sickletail

Parentage: Progenitor

Abilities: levitation, water spray breath, ecolocation

Personality: Weisol fully trusts Mualani, moreso than the average dragon. He's willing to go along with anything, so long as she's there going with it too. Thankfully, Mualani has a good head on her shoulders, so they rarely get into trouble.

Mualani was completely happy to get a Broadback Sickletail. They were the perfect dragon for her lifestyle! Able to accompany her both in the water and on spiritways, though she was somewhat faster than poor Weisol. That's okay though, Weisol's best at sight-seeing anyway- often giving Mualani and her tourists a lift through the lands of Natlan.
