Furina
Introduced as the flamboyant and overconfident Hydro Archon, Furina's theatrics are eventually revealed to be a public persona, which she later discards in favor of living a relatively humbler life as an actress and artistic consultant.
Dragon Companion: Ego Music
Furina was nervous walking into the Weyr. She didn't know why, but she'd felt- compelled almost, to be here, like there was a song in her mind that only calmed when she got closer. It was very intimidating, especially with what she'd heard about the final test- the rest had been nerve-wracking enough, she about fainted when her 'strength of heart' was tested. Now the dragons themselves would decide whether she was worthy!
"Hello there!" the Weyrmaster said, startling her, "Ah sorry. Didn't mean to spook ya." "Who, me? No, nonsense! I was just a little.. preoccupied with the scenery, that's all!" she said, hoping to brush past this little moment. "So, ahem, the final test is to be chosen by a dragon, is it not? Where-where about will this be happening?" "Right this way." he said, waving his hand to the right.
He lead her through a set of doors into a giant room with piles of nests and eggs dotted all around. It was a dazzling sight, and suddenly she understood why they were reaching out to other worlds- there were just so many! And there was that song again, even clearer now. She started walking down a pathway, taking in the sights, but was stopped by a cough. She turned and saw the Weyrmaster standing at the entrance with his arms crossed. Sheepishly, she walked back over to him, stammering out a quiet 'sorry'.
The Weyrmaster just chuckled, "Excitement gets to us all from time to time, no harm done. Anyway, this is your next test- search these hallways for your future companion- you'll know them when you find them." Furina nodded, and with a wave from him, again headed back down the hallway she'd been headed before. 'Strange,' she thought to herself, 'he phrased it like I was sure to get one.'
She walked the pathways between the eggs, but felt she already had a destination in mind. It was odd, but that song seemed to be guiding her down the different pathways. She felt like she was crazy, following a song that she couldn't explain to somewhere in the depths of a new world. But the pull wouldn't relent, so she followed it, deeper and deeper in.
She eventually reached a large pool, containing tons of nests. She waded in, looking at the different eggs before spotting some pearlescent ones, particularly a light blue one that seemed to sing to her. She gently lifted it up, and egg began cracking. Slowly but surely, the little hatchling broke free from her shell, shaking away shards. Furina couldn't believe it- a dragon had actually chosen her! More unbelievably, she'd been calling to her for a while now it seemed..
The little hatchling looked up from the remains of the egg, greeting her warmly, "I'm Ego Music, but you can also call me Muse. Might I know your name?" Furina smiled at the little hatchling, "Furina de Fontaine, but just Furina is fine." she answered, before hugging Muse close to her. She felt inexplicably emotional, and could tell Muse felt the same.
"Congratulations," announced the Weyrmaster, wadding up to them, "you're now a dragonrider."

Personality: Ego Music is vain and proper, not unlike Furina. She's a fair bit bolder than Furina, always encouraging her to try new things, which doesn't pair well with Furina's impulse purchases- the theater troops have gotten even more spar props since Muse came into Furina's life. Muse does enjoy crochet though, and is always after new yarns to add to her horde.
Furina was pleased to get this musical little hybrid. Muse is smaller than others of her kind, at only 27 ft long, but with Furina's training has gained a real talent for singing and theatre. Muse often performs in theatrical productions as backing tracks, able to easily accompany any range of instrumental with her unique songs. She will also provide sound effects on occasion, though she hasn't yet mastered throwing her voice.
